True stories behind Disney versions

So one of my Finish FB friend had share a link in FB where's some real facts about the true stories what then Disney have change for their liking. The real original versions of those stories are much more gore than you knew!

Everyone knows how Disney's versions goes so here's the true versions (I try my best to translate them!)

1. Little Mermaid:
Hardcore Andersen's story is more darker. Little mermaid goes trough painful transformation what splits her tail in half creating 2 legs, and the walk with them is like stepping on knives blades. Prince takes poor "silent and retarded" girl in his care even that he's going to marry another woman.

Little mermaid options are a.) kill the prince or b.) become a foam. Mermaid chooses the last one. And because she don't have a soul, she will be judged to become air's spirit for the next 300 years. But because God is fair guy, mermaid have a change to short her cake with a year every time when she finds well behaving child. Deal's another side is, that every time bad behaving child shed a tear, her punishment gets longer with one day.

2. Sleeping beauty
Grimm's version is based on Charles Perrault's story "La Belle au bois dromant, Sleeping beauty in the forest." Perrault's story continues from there where Grimm's brothers and Disney ended it. Aurora (sleeping Beauty) gives birth to 2 kids to the prince and family lives happily in the king's castle until it comes out, that prince's mom is actually blood lusty cannibal, who lusts little kids.

Prince tries to hide his kids in order to protect them, but when the queen finds out about the offspring, she orders them to be slaughter. Clever servant feeds the queen with the meat of lamb and goat, and the queen praises the food thinking that she had ate her grand children.

Later the queen decides to eat Aurora herself, but the hoax is revealed and furious mother-in-law decided to sink both mother and kids in the tub what's full of snakes. Prince comes there just right in time, and cannibal queen herself fell in the tub, and dies.

3. Cinderella
There's many versions about Cinderella, but the most known is probably the Grimm's brothers story. In both Disney's and Grimm's brothers versions Cinderella gets her prince, but her stepsister's fate is much more bloody.

Stepmother orders sisters to cut off their big toes and also a part of their heel, so that the glass shoe would fit in their feet. Prince doesn't fall in this trick and he chooses Cinderella. Kind-hearted girl feels sorry toward her cripple sisters and she takes them with her in the castle. In prince's and Cinderella's weddings 2 pigeons lands from the sky, who peck the eyes out of her sisters heads as a punishment of their horrible acts.

4. The Fox and the Hound
Young writer Daniel P. Monnix's The fox and the Hound is actually depressing. In this version the Hound's life mission is to kill the fox as a revenge of killing his owner's other dog in accident, which is the fox's fault.

The fox founds a mate and gets puppies, but the owner kills whole fox family except the fox himself. In the next spring the fox founds new mate and have new babies, but the sad happening repeats itself and this family too is slaughtered. After some years the owner becomes a reclusive alcoholic. In story's climax the Hound chases the fox until the fox dies on exhaustion. As a thanks owner shoots his loyal dog because he can't take him with him in the eventide home.

5. Pinocchio
Also, the Italian Carlo Collodin's years 1881-1883, published by the serialize "Adventures of Pinocchio" things happen. After many situations Pinocchio ends up in the island of amusements and transforms in a donkey. Pinocchio is sold to circus until drums maker decides to skin him and make a new drum from the skin. Man tries to drown Pinocchio-donkey in the ocean, but helpful fishes decides to maul him, so there only will be wooden doll left.

Next Pinocchio is swallowed by huge shark. In the stomach of the shark he finds his father, who has spend 2 years in there. After getting back to shore Pinocchio and Geppetto meets fair fox and Kim prank (I surely translated their names wrong. Sorry!), who tricked our heroes earlier in the story. The duo has become a poor beggars. Fox is cripple and scabby who had to sell his tail, and the cat is blind. Pinocchio won't feel sorry for them and shoo them away.

6. Hercules
In Greek's mythology Megara was king Kreon's oldest daughter who was promised to Hercules (or to Herakles). Hercules, in the other hand, was notorious sex addict which were good enough for both men and women. Megara and Hercules got from 2 to 8 kids and lived more or less happily until Hercules in the gust of madness kills his wife and kids.

After coming back to his senses Hercules regrets his doing deeply. To compensate his doing he have to perform 10 (later 12) feats - the same "obstacles" what Hercule faces in Disney's version.

7. The Jungle Book
In Disney's version Mowgli goes back in the village. So in the book as well, where friendly couple adopts him. Family's luck ends up short when Mowgli kills and skins the great Shere Khan - tiger. Village's jealous hunter blames the boy from witchcraft, torture his parents and forces Mowgli run back in the jungle.

The Jungle boy starts for weeks lasting revenge. The group of elephants stamps the village to the ground, destroying villagers whole harvest and property. Wolves shoo cows away and Bagheera - panther kills even horses. Finally, when the rainy season starts, the whole village is being destroyed, and the last villagers flees. In next 6 months, on the place where the village was, is only a jungle, and Mowgli got his revenge.

8. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Victor Hugo disagreed. Novel's Quasimodo is deaf, retarded stalker, who obsessively falls in love to seductive Gypsy lady. Also Frollo lusts Esmeralda, but the girl has already fall in love to handsome captain Febus. Unlike in Disney's movie, this Febus is self-centered dickwad, who wants that only thing only. Bitter Frollo stage Esmeralda to be one to blame on captain's murder, and hangs the girl. Febus, who's actually alive and engaged, doesn't give a damn about Esmeralda's suffering.

Quasimodo goes crazy because of the grief and push Frollo down from cathedral's tower in his own death. Next he finds Gypsy girl's body what, in the end, has been tossed in nameless mass grave. Quasimodo wraps himself around dead Esmeralda and starves to death in the end.

So yeah, gore, peoples... gore!
I have one last question - Why Disney doesn't also make K-18 cartoons to adults?! I SO would LOVE to see and watch those!!
